My Scholarship entry - My passion for marine photography!

I am currently studying marine biology in the UK and have a huge passion (possibly obsession) for photography; I have travelled to many beautiful areas in the UK to photograph marine life, however my best photography project was in the Philippines earlier this year. In the Philippines, I had the amazing opportunity to capture great images of fascinating marine life to promote the conservation issues and need to protect these vulnerable marine ecosystems. Photography is an immensely important part of my life; not only has it given me the chance to encounter incredible marine and terrestrial species, but it has also given me a medium to protect them and to raise awareness of the threats that could consume them. I would hugely value this chance to visit such a brilliant ecosystem; the rainforest is one the most important and fragile environments on this planet and its beauty can be shared with the world through photography.
