My Scholarship entry - WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD

My name is Lea, born and raised in Florida. I remember looking at the pictures in National Geographic before I could read. My father had a subscription for at least a decade. I loved them so much and would not let him throw them away, he had to build a large book case to hold them all. I am so glad that we now have the ability to take so many photos with digital cameras. I am no great photographer, so I take many pictures in hopes of getting at least one good shot. Photos and memories go hand in hand. I want to capture a moment or a place so that I can look at it and it can take me back there. We live in an amazing, beautiful, mysterious, cruel, harsh, scary world. Photos and film help capture all of those aspects so that they can be seen by the world. I am often moved to tears by just a photograph or watching a documentary. I want to be able to capture those moments that touch your soul. It must be amazing to be able to do that for a living and get to see the world. I know it is not a glamorous job and can be very tough at times, but it would be so rewarding. To dream the impossible dream......
I know whomever is chosen for this project will have a life changing experience.
