My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Australia | Monday, July 8, 2013 | 5 photos
I take photos because I love to.
Capturing a glimpse of the world in an image is something I find difficult to explain, but, when I take my camera out and explore, producing an image is very rarely my primary goal.
Having a camera is just an extra reason for me to open my eyes.
Having a camera helps me capture the experiences that would otherwise be unwisely entrusted into memories, to be skewed, corrupted and forgotten by age and circumstance.
It may seem obvious, but an invaluable side effect of photography is that it allows me to share my experiences and perspectives, not only with those I love, but with all those around me and, astoundingly, with strangers throughout the world.
It even feels strange to refer to myself as a “Photographer”, it’s as if the title will somehow allow me to take credit for the beauty that surrounds us all.
But please don’t be confused, for me to take the credit for what you see in the photos I’ve taken is like a window claiming ownership to the view beyond the glass.
