My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

These photos show the changes that we all go through and what is lost. We move from being pure, young and innocent to being old and polluted. The taint afflicts us all in the same fashion. Young, healthy and limber become old, ill and infirm. The earth itself has changed in much the same way. It was once so young, so pure and so healthy, now it is becoming old and diseased, and like all things, it will eventually succumb to its fate. I am passionate about the environment and about life. It is my belief that we are a symbiotic organism, we need the earth to survive and although it will age like all things, it will only die if we continue down the path we are paving. It doesn't have to be this way. People are the only things that should pass on, and the beauty of nature should be there for those ones who will take the journey after we are gone. The only way the environment will be saved is if we hold onto the traditions of the ones who came before us and respect and cherish the planet. As a lover of photography, I want to show the small pockets of people who still hold to what has been passed down through the generations in hopes that the rest of the population will take up call and make a change.
