My Scholarship entry - Seeing the world through other eyes

I am going to talk about the 3 trips that changed my life.
The first trip happened when I was 18 and had just finished high school. I was about to begin college or my 'new life' as I used to believe, to become that 'new person' (I didn't become that 'new person' but more on that later). So, anyway, I went on a sailing cruise; for like 10 days, I didn't have any worry except understanding nautical terms, and applying sailing techniques and it was a-we-some: for 10 days, I emptied my mind.
All I can see if the deep blue... Serenity, eternity, beauty...
And during this time, I was really another person.
Maybe then I didn't become a new person during my college years but at least I had the trip not to keep me going.
Years passed... I finished college. I was 21 and after more than a year of work without rest, I needed a vacation; but I still had my graduation movie to do and for that I needed inspiration. So, I thought: where do I go to find it? And it hit me: since I was a little girl, I was dreaming of visiting Paris. and it was finally my chance... It was perfect.
Plus, my crush was in Brussels, so for a few days, we went on a little road trip to Amsterdam...
And you know what I found? Inspiration indeed.
I got home with a baggage full of ideas.
2010. I was 24. 3 years had passed one more time. What happened during these 3 years? All I can remember is the nervous breakdown I had. I was writing another movie and it wasn't going very well since the subject I've chosen was Incest. Plus, I was scared because I failed the first one.
There was a raging storm inside of me and no ray drilling through the darkness... So, where do I turn? Nepal of course. And this trip was legendary! Discovering myself, finding inner peace; that was the most magical trip I ever taken.
After it, or should I say, after 'all', I was a changed person, inspired and peaceful.
To sum up, every time I feel something is missing, I travel, but the most amazing thing is that I always get it.
