Riding Home - The Journey of a Motorcycle Nomad
Australia | Wednesday, November 19, 2014 | 5 photos
I am a wandering traveler, riding my motorcycle home: but where is that exactly? After an abrupt redundancy from a large computer corporation, I left a ten year marriage, sold my possessions and packed a motorcycle with all I own: a few clothes, some camping equipment, and five cameras.
I have been captivated by travel photography since my first solo travel with a backpack that the desire to capture the world through the lens emerged. It was my intent to use photography to tell my stories for those who have chosen to keep the anchors of modern life, perhaps wishing for the same dream.
As I continue my journey on two-wheels across the globe, I hope to better my capturing skills and further captivate the living room traveler into what I see. In this internet world we are overrun by a myriad of happy snapshooters who randomly capture all and everything. I want to learn how to convey what I feel in the heart along the way into a piece of creative imagery.
Whether I am a finalist or not, it is my hope that these five images were able to take you along the places I travel. It is a privilege to be able to do what I do; the least I can do is share it with those who might enjoy it.
