My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Nepal | Saturday, October 29, 2011 | 4 photos

Hi my name is Robert married with 3 kids and i have a love for photography. When i was in my early teens i was diagnosed with uclerative colitis (bowel Diease) but it was only 12 years ago that i was hopsitalised due to this diease as it had taken over my whole large bowl without the operation i would have died. After a very long recovery adjusting to a new life without a large bowl i had a life changing experience, i decided that i wanted to travel under to advise of my specialist, destination was to do Everest Base Camp in 2009 with World Expeditions. I had trained for about 6 months and in November i began my journey. I have entered my photos to tell you the story of my journey to this beautiful country starting with traditional sherpa woman striking the pose for us. The prayer flags in the wind was a peacefully reminder of the lives lost on Everest. The stupa looking up towards Ama Dabla what a breathing taking sight. But the most memoriable photo of this trip has to be my last photo which is of Mt Everest with a serpent tail cloud right over the top of everest this is my favourite photo which i proudly have mounted in my lounge room its a wonderful talking piece. On my travels through this beautiful country the camera that was used to take all of my photos with was a Sony A200. The one thing that im proud about is none of my photos have been enhanced in any way what you see is what you get.Since then i have upgraded my camera to a Sony A55. Im not a professional i just love taking pictures, and would love to learn more and look thought the eyes of a professional photographer how he/she thinks. That would be a great honour if i would be selected. This is a short story about me and my travels to Mt Everest.
