My name is Sarah and I am a 23 year old Australian living in South Australia. Since a young age I had shown particular interest in all art forms alike and was always active with my sports. Since then, not much has changed, I finished top of the school in year 12 for Visual Art Studies and since then have gone to University where my love of photography bloomed. Completing the Bachelor in Visual Art (2008), Graduate Diploma in Visual Art and Design (2009) and my Masters in Visual Art and Design (2010), all majoring in photography, I have found myself unfulfilled and wanting to learn more. Still playing a variety of sports and keeping active, I try to fit in photography whenever I can.
As a perfectionist, I always strive to get the right shot before I move onto something else, when shooting film it was always difficult to say whether I captured it or not, digital is always easier being able to preview the image after, however I still use film whenever I can. I’m always striving to create something new, something different or push the boundaries on something I tried but couldn’t quite execute the way I wanted and always looking for a new challenge. I am always dedicated when I put my mind to something and it is very rare for me to not finish something I start.
Currently working retail, I am looking to find a job within the photographic industry but have had no luck so far, but I’m always keeping an eye out for new job openings. I always keep a sketch book in my bag wherever I go to take dot points of idea, sketch out an image in my head to create or write down a location I’ve stumbled across to go back to later. I always keep a point and shoot camera in my bag also, to document what I find to make it easier to find it again.
