My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Spain | Monday, January 14, 2013 | 5 photos

I was six years old.The school bell rang & it was time to go home One day I decided to not take the bus and instead walk 30km back home.So I did & I recall being very happy about it.I proudly told my parents of what I had accomplished. They were shocked. I got scolded &from thereon I got escorted to my school everyday.I realize now that the decision I took as a toddler went on to become the single most inspiring moment of my life.I knew soon I had an innate passion for travel. My dad is an alcoholic addicted to gambling, mom suffers from depression, tried to commit suicide& I was sexually abused by my grandpa. Even then I evolved into a sane& funny person with a of zest for life. The reason for this is my passion to travel.I used to travel through books & music to escape the present & when I was old enough (16)I took off on the road. That's the thing about travel you get a clean slate. There are no yesterdays.I feel most at home, when I’m on the road.I love living through my backpack &standing in long queues at airport security. The lust for travel is what sparked another passion in me,Photography. It inspires me to take a better shot. Through a CF Card I hold the key to blissful memories.
