My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

My name is Axel Coeuret, I've been being a passionate about photography for a long time thanks to my father, a passion that I could practice over many trips.
I recently had the chance to travel for a year in South America, to learn both languages, to learn more about local culture, to simply think about another way of being.
I filled my journey with many shots, and when I returned to my old job, I finally quit it after a month... I crossed a line as the discovery of our world acts like a drug, and not only to be remembered in the spirit : it surpasses everything else, you just can't think about something else.
Like many other persons, I want to become a photographer, but I noticed this is a job that requires contact, curiosity and sensibility.
My technique has evolved considerably since the first pictures, but I realize that I still have much to learn. That is why this opportunity to be mentored by a professional, in a country where I saw through medias so many wonderful stories, just let me dream... Especially now, at this point of my life, as I know that I was born to do photography.
I know how to take pictures, my work in physics having brought me a certain discipline on the framing of a picture, but I still try to understand why I take a picture in this angle instead of that one, as for me, photography remains above all a matter of instinct. That's why I like spontaneous shots, when something happens between two persons.
I am a very energetic and smilling person, curious but also patient and resourceful when the situation requires.
I'd love to be able to express more feelings about this subject, as I have a real passion to communicate.
Thank you for paying attention to this post, and thank you for offering such opportunities.
