My Scholarship entry - Learning How to...

WORLDWIDE | Sunday, 14 October 2012 | Views [253] | Scholarship Entry

We are two fun-loving 20-something Canadians who have travelled to some pretty exotic places around the world. We crave the adventure of the unknown & have no problem stepping out of our comfort zone. Growing up in Canada, it never really occurred to us that although we’ve been to many exciting destinations, we’ve never made an effort to explore our own country. So we took this opportunity for the World Nomads Film Scholarship to learn to do a past time that is truly Canadian – camping!

Both graduates from Ryerson Uni. in Toronto, Kathleen Espiritu (filmmaker) from the Image Arts program & Ellie Geronikolos (presenter) from TV Production. Together we are a well-oiled creative team, like Matt & Ben but with more estrogen. We also post our travel videos at http://www.missadventures.ca.

Winning this contest would be an amalgamation of our dreams & aspirations & our passion of storytelling. This is something we want to do for the rest of our lives - winning would be an amazing learning experience as well as help kick start our future.

So here is the story of Ellie, the most un-Canadian Canadian, surviving one night in the great Canadian wilderness. Now get in the canoe!
