After several years working in several other fields, I realised the only thing I had ever really understood was to dedicate myself to the pursuit of a creative career. Through Economics, Politics and business I had attempted to understand the world we inhabit, but had failed. I now combine this knowledge with travel to try and critically analyse and understand the world and our place within it, beginning simply by stepping outside my own world of certainties. Photography is the means by which I am able to understand and express this investigation. I am always looking to improve myself - technically, critically, organisationally. One of best ways for me to do this is to work in close proximity with those in the field with experience and whom I respect. Working with Jason is not only about getting an insight into his philosophy and his approach, but is also about learning how to conduct yourself professionally as a photographer in the field and at home. After all, we also need to make a living out of what we do, and learning how to do this through travel photography from Jason would be a dream, especially as environmental issues become a greater and greater theme in my own work.
