It was an unexpected trip. A friend of mine from Perth woke me up in the morning, and that was how I got the intention to visit Perth. The first day I arrived Perth, my friend picked me up from the airport. Believe it or not, after getting a local Simcard and grabbing a bite, we headed north. That was how our roadtrip began. Our target destination would be Monkey Mia, which is about 900km away from Perth City. It was Summer and a windy night. By that time we reached Geraldton, it was about 3am and all the motels were closed. Without any other choice, we slept in the car by the road side. We washed up in McDonald’s and continued our journey to Monkey Mia. Lovely place! It was my first time seeing real dolphins. We spent two days in Monkey Mia before headed back to Perth. We then spent another night in Kalbarri, a place where we star gazed. Absolutely in love with this town. Along the way back, we went to Pinnacles Desert, Pink Lake, and not forgetting, paying a visit to Oakabella Homested – known to be the most haunted place. I spent another day in Fremantle alone, talking to strangers and making new friends there. There was this Danish dude who makes delicious waffles. We shared our stories. It was also Australia Day, where the Havaianas Thong Challenge happened annually. I participated in it, and almost drown when the Thong flipped. For your information, I do not know how to swim. It was this Indonesian girl named Jennifer who saved me. We became friends and she said she might be visiting Malaysia soon, which is my country. Before I forget, Swan Valley was the place that I truly enjoyed with the wine and chocolate there. I spent my final two days in Perth City, checking out buskers and sigh seeing. I met this busker called Kimman, and he was originally from Hong Kong and resided to Melbourne. He was so happened to be busking in Perth that week. It was a much unexpected trip, but it was also such an eye opener. I’ve experienced so many new things in these 10 days in Western Australia.
