Captured in Capetwon

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Worldwide | Monday, October 3, 2011 | 5 photos

These photos were lovingly captured in South Africa. I fell inlove with the place, the people and the marvelous creatures. Unfortunately, the time was not enough for me to meet all of the "big five" and it is my dream to go back and meet them all properly. These very photos etched in my heart forever because they were candid, warm and surprising. Wild animals can't be directed to pose for a perfect picture but the very essence of being "wild" and "free" makes them a difficult yet rewarding subject because they will always surprise you!
The photos were taken in different location; seal island, in a game reserve, on a conservation and even on the rough road. Seeing them in their natural habitat is a fuel to my adrenalin rush and made me hunger for more...
I am not a professional photographer, not even savvy in photoshop and post-production, my works were raw straight from point and shoot; But because I wanted to convey my passion for this thing and that's the very reason why I went ahead and take this "long shot". After all, this is is an oppurtunity open to everyone and just grabbing this chance makes me feel I'm already a winner. South Africa is a place where you can appreciate all your blessings in life, be humbled with the enormity of God's creation, define beauty and pain at the same time. At the end of your travel, your heart will be left behind to those creatures that you captured in your camera. I wish I would be chosen, because going back to South Africa and be trained under the wing of the best is priceless. An experience that a even a big-carat diamond can't compare...
