My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Colombia | Friday, October 15, 2010 | 5 photos

From my last trip to Colombia, my birth country.
I've always known that Colombia is a great place, but i always lived in the capital, where there are not much contact with nature, so the last time i went to Colombia i was touring places unknown for me, far from the city.
Hence that i felt that i looked into the countryside, the five photographies speaks of the same place, but each one describes a different situation. You can see several things that happens today in the rural area of Colombia. Ones keeps the work of men, diversity of products, trade. Others, things that disappeared, like the train. And what is to come, more roads and new generations of peasants.

The power of taking a perfect shot of an animal that you didn't put to pose, that probably you have to pursuit or even wait for it, the idea that people can see the detail of an animal that they only see in television, and being able to capture animals in situations are not common to see for men, being aware of the existence of animal life, is a reward.
Being able to tell many people throughout a picture the reality of a place, showing other races, activities of other cultures. That someone that looked at your picture enjoy a place as much as you is the target. In a word, i want to transmit. That is what i love about photography and what i want to do for the rest of my life, even if i know is no easy to accomplish.
Going to a place like Buthan thrills me, also knowing and learning from someone that is an example of what i want to be. I have a lot more to say, but there are only 300 words, so if i am what you are looking for, we'll see each other in Buthan.
