My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I have been passionate about photography since I was seven and begged my parents to buy me a Kodak Instamatic 77x. The great thing about the camera was that it had absolutely no settings and I had to learn how to develop my eye and appreciate light and colour. I now use a Canon 500d and am using Tom Ang's Digital Photography Masterclass to develop my knowledge and practical skills. I would really benefit from an on-the-job mentor who could train me in setting up a shot and improve my technique and composition. As a teacher/trainer, I have travelled all over the world and been involved in several charity projects. I use my photography to promote people's awareness of these projects and to inspire them to get involved. My dream is to work as a travel photographer and I aspire to contribute one day to National Geographic.
I am particularly interested in going to Oman as I have travelled very little in the Middle East and am fascinated the details and colours of the souks and the desert. I am always ready for adventure, prepared for hard work and always strive to get the best shot. As a person I am dynamic, motivated, independent and free spirited with an enormous passion for life.
