A Japanese Story

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Japan | Sunday, October 9, 2011 | 5 photos

My Dad gave me my first camera and I only started taking it more seriously when I decided still pictures captured holiday moments better compared to video.

When I take a photo I want to capture an emotion, I hope that people would feel what I felt like they were there. One can never stop learning and I am just at the beginning of my journey where I hope to gain as much as I can from this once in a lifetime experience. I love a challenge and I always strive to go my best because I’m hardworking, patient and always up for adventure.

Photography to me means following my passion and doing something I really love, I want to live and breath it and when I saw the opportunity to be mentored by Jason Edwards I knew this was what I needed to reach a new level. Right now when I go to my day job as a warehouse manager I feel like I should be doing more with my life, but when I travel and take pictures I feel so at ease. I’m applying for this opportunity to learn from a great mentor and as I hope that the experience will give me affirmation that I am on the right path on a quest to fulfil my destiny. I want to take a giant leap of faith that will take me to a more fulfilling life.

It would be a dream come true to contribute to National Geographic, I’m travel hungry and love to listen and observe different cultures that I can learn from and walk away as a different person. I live everyday like it is my last and make the most of every opportunity by enjoying every experience.
