Walking one hundred and thirty kilometres through endless blue sky and field upon field of flat mundane Meseta is enough to make any person a little crazy. You are confronted by your own thoughts and inner demons and it forces you to really challenge who you are.

Many pilgrims opt to continue walking an extra three days from Santiago to Finisterre, on Spain's west coast. The Romans believed Finisterre to be the end of the world. As you approach the water, and look out to the horizon, the sky appears to melt into the ocean in a perfectly blended shade of grey and you really do believe this is the end of the world.

Being a pilgrim is a way of life. There is a true sense of camaraderie between fellow pilgrims along the Camino. You become a part of history, joining the many people who have walked the religious pilgrimage over the last two thousand years. Everyone shares a goal, to reach the city of Santiago, and every step forward takes you just a little closer.
