Hi there! The pictures I'm sending you are taken on a 7 days trip in Egypt, an oportunity I had in 2007 as a travel agent. Egypt is a country, as I think you know, where every picture you take could cost you a few lira, just because you pointed the camera at someone. With children is different! So, in this journey, taking these pictures made me feel good just for the smile I brought on their faces. And I think that their joy worth to be celebrate by everyone who enjoys their smile.
GIRLS AT THE MUSEUM are taking while a group of school girls was waiting in line for entering the National Museum of Egyptology. Their humble silence caught me. But in a few seconds, after smiling and waving at them, they all started to laugh and pose for me. THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER is the story of two Egyptian boys on the Ghiza Plateau, one of them making a living by begging the tourists to ride his "best friend" for few lira and the other one having fun riding a donkey for the first time in his life (as his father told me). DIGNITY is a picture taken as we were driving alongside river Nile. The boys were playing football in a backyard as we stopped for a snack. They all came jumping and chattering. Only this boy came straight to me saluting with a self confidence look that realy made my day.
I like taking pictures! I like traveling! I like people smiling, knowing new places, learning their traditions. Even more, I like living all these! I'm a self-taught person, but I need more than that to make out of it a way of life. I need a "push". In need to learn. At my age (and, BELIEVE ME, I don't wanna be pathetic) this experience (knowing you Jason and working with you) will be an life changing experience! I just wanna learn. And I know I have a lot to give back! Cause it's the way I am...
