A Day on Moreton Island

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Australia | Saturday, January 5, 2013 | 5 photos

These days we hardly ever stop to smell the roses. That’s the beauty of photography, the rose requires complete attention. Senses are sharp; waiting for that split second when everything comes together perfectly and the rose’s beauty is captured forever
My love of photography led to studying it in College and applying for a Bachelor of Visual Arts with a major in Photomedia at Uni. But after 13 years of school I was after another type of education I could get only from experience. Before starting Uni I had a gap year which took me around the world. For those who don’t have the opportunity to travel, photographs may be their only chance to see foreign lands; I took as many as I could for them
This year I will commence my degree which marks a new chapter in my photography. I am excited to continue my schooling yet I can’t deny I prefer to learn though experience. This unique mentoring experience combined with my degree would give me the cutting edge in a competitive industry.
The future of my photography is always changing, with each new experience a new pathway opens up. I can’t predict where the journey of life will take me, all I know is wherever I am I’ll stop to smell the roses
