My photos: Burma / Myanmar
A land of abundant resources controlled by the few for personal gain, depended on by the majority for survival but where both parties chase the ultimate goal of enlightenment through the cycle of nirvana.
The proletariat have longed for assistance in their search for democracy, they have sought help from both within and outside their borders but to no avail. They are alone, isolated from each other, the international community and with little hope of any resolution (Fishing for democracy.
The brave souls who have spoken out have been silenced by the puppets of the regime (Silenced); puppets who can be compared to other notable agents of cruelty, namely the Stasi, KGB and Mossad.
Their spiritual leaders, the Buddhist monks, have undertaken the silent journey to freedom (The long walk) only to be brutally beaten or murdered by the few for daring to challenge the status quo.
Emotionally and mentally drained from their efforts; do they have the energy to continue the fight (Sleeping monk) and change this cycle of oppression?
Why should I be chosen?
I travel with an unparalleled passion and the aim to depict the subject mater in a true, fair light in order to tell their story.
You will find no other candidate more determined to learn and improve on their craft.
