I left Australia for the first time late last year. While I visited Bali, I did things rather than just observed. I became disgusted with the other Australians who stayed in Kuta Beach to get drunk and be stupid. They might as well as stayed at home.
The world is ours, so I live. It was extraordinary to hire a moped and to ride and to learn the unwritten road rules. It was great to taste frogs legs. It was - oh there's a word somewhere - to date a local girl and to work out the appropriate ways of public interactions between man and woman.
