I’m Chris Tomaszewski,
I’ve been in the basement of “The Holden House” surrounded by 100 punks listening to a rock band play. I’ve been on Huntington Beach in California, at a bonfire where the beauty of lights reflecting off the ocean is strangely hypnotic. I’ve been lost in Toronto where I’ve taken a picture of a man who then tries to sell me their bike. I’ve spent my Halloween huddled by my tripod and camera in the freezing cold, taking 30 second exposures, while jumping around to stay warm. I’ve witnessed the shadow of a mountain rise from the horizon engulfing me and my surroundings in darkness.
When I look back at my photography I don’t just see the beauty of the image, I remember the experience. Anyone can point out one of my pictures and I can tell them the place, time, event and emotion context. That’s why I love photography. Photographs are not just a pictures, but a representation of a moment of unique beauty in my life which I was privileged to capture forever. Experiences mold an individual’s character. Please allow me to experience Oman with you, so I can capture it, not only for its beauty but also for its story.
