My Scholarship entry - "Children of a Lesser God"
Morocco | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos
My name is Margarita Feslian and I am from Greece.
I first realize that photography was something more than a hobby to me few years ago, because of a travel in Marrakech. Unfortunately that was my only travel outside Europe and maybe that’s why I was so impressed by the cultural differences, the traditions, the poverty and the wealth.
The story which I’ ve submitted to world nomads is called “Children of a Lesser God” because most of those children were living in poverty, they lack things that we considered necessary, however the most extraordinary thing was their pure smile and their spontaneous optimism.
When I first heard of this scholarship I was considering of sending photos that reflect the crisis in my country, Greece, but finally I choose to submit the story of the Moroccan kids as a valuable lesson about the real essence of life and how we have to face the difficulties in our lives …just with a big smile!
This scholarship by the mentoring of Jason Edward would be exceptional for me not only because it is a unique experience but mostly because it is an once in a lifetime opportunity to experience an invaluable guidance from a professional photographer.
