My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Vietnam | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 | 5 photos

Hoi An-Vietnam is my hometown, its architecture and atmosphere inspire most of tourists and photographers. I wanted to be your tour guide by the 5 shots of its beauty but the small abandoned children center within the town stopped me and the kid's look keeps encouraging me to submit something really special to me.
They were about 70 kids from everywhere. Every of them has his own circumstance but the common reason is their biological mother couldn't be their mom and they are special kids. Very special! My family and I came to visit and bring them some goodies in a raining day. There are only 5 gifted ladies who are called momy to take care of them I tried all my best not to tear when looking into their eyes. They behaved like the best kid in the world: No crying, laughing alone, play with others...That's already a happy big family even they don't have so many basic stuffs.
I tried my best not to tear when looking into Nhi's eyes- a 1 year old girl. she can't see but she could smell and realize us coming. She was longing for somebody to hold her and she holds me tighter than anybody does to feel the beating of a human's heart... I felt so hurt when seeing Tien - a 5 years old boy who doesn't want anyone to tough him and he was just silently sad. I can't help to heal his heart...
As an architect, I love nature and i want to wake the world up from nature and human's destroy. I tried to capture some photos of the kids and their look really haunts me. I don't have good camera or excellent skill to make it the best but i think I could tell a story through my photos. There's an emotion carried along the photos that i will always be reminded to do something to make this life better. Photography could be an art that supports me the most to make it happen.
