My Scholarship Entry - A 'Place' I Have Visited

I am Charmaine. I am from the Philippines. Photography is my way of capturing and preserving an experience, an emotion, a second in time.

WHAT WILL I GAIN?
I want to become a better storyteller. I want to learn how to take inspiring photos, photos that have the power to evoke emotion. This scholarship offers me the chance to do that, to have once-in-a-lifetime experiences and more than I could ever imagine especially under the guidance of a great mentor.

And as if that is not enough to get me all psyched up, I get to go off on an adventure and experience a new culture too. I could not ask for more!

WHAT WILL YOU GAIN?
I am a beginner. To be honest, the only “technique” I know is “point and shoot”. BUT this is an advantage because I am like brand new clay dough – fun and easy to mould! I am open-minded, eager to learn and I’m going to give this all I’ve got!

Perhaps, one day, I could join the ranks of esteemed photographers all over the globe, traversing borders, experiencing new things, taking incredible images, telling stories that cannot be told through words; and I will look back on the day I was given that one chance to make it happen and I will be forever grateful.
