A day in Kastelorizo, Greece

I love to record the things that make my heart race and take my breath away, so I can share them with those that I care about. I try to capture the way it makes me feel.
I believe that people care about things that they see, a photo that truly captures the moment - the real essence of it can do the same. I am studying marine biology and one of the things that is most important to me is education about the ocean. I would love to eventually be able to take a photo that can evoke feelings in such a way that I have been effected by photography in the past. I hope to make a career of educating the public about issues related to the ocean, especially through the use of images. Photography is a powerful tool and although I am just a beginner I love the thrill of seeing a photo that really shows just what you felt when you pushed the shutter.
I am currently living in Vancouver while I do one semester on University exchange. I try to explain to my family the amazement that I feel as the weather turns cool, the leaves turn from green to gold and eventually make their way to the ground. I find words just can't do justice... so I try to show it, these everyday occurrences... in a photo. The photos that I have chosen are some that I took in Kastelorizo, Greece. I took them especially for my Dad to capture the stories that he has regaled me with my whole life of the little things he saw while in Greece.
