My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Argentina | Sunday, October 17, 2010 | 4 photos
This is Marck writing. I'm a 23 year old passionate guy, somehow crazy and about to graduate from university and go out to what people mistakenly refers to 'the real world'.
The real world is happening all the time and it's worth a shot. I'm a full time devoted storyteller. Even though at first it might sound a bit paradoxical, I think photographs have become the commonest and often even unnoticed way of telling stories. We share the world and we share ourselves through pictures.
We are surrounded by photos all the time and the way we see and understand the world is very much defined by this images.
Among this universe of photographs, sometimes I find one that makes me feel the pleasure and amazement of discovering something new. That gives me the privilege to widen my imagination and acknowledge another culture. The possibility to rediscover what's in front of me every time and I've become so used to it that I wouldn't even notice.
Whenever that happens I feel really thankful and can't stop thinking of the idea of sharing my stories and my photos. Because if a single person can find in them another way of seeing the world or awaken his/her curiosity then I know I've done my work right and encourages me to continue doing it.
I'm sharing with you 4 pictures that were taken in El Chalten in winter last year. An amazing village in the far southern part of continental Argentina. I don't want to say more about the photos because I think they can do well by themselves. I really hope you like and enjoy them.
I would love to have the life experience of travelling to Bhutan, learn a lot about both their culture and landscape and photography itself and being able to share that with you.
Well, that's a bit of me and my work. The rest is up to you.
Good luck to everyone!
