Day 23: Breaking Free

KENYA | Wednesday, 13 March 2013 | Views [150]

We all rebelled and left the house today. Counting the votes has been taking days – they’re all counted by hand. The four of us went to the disabilities school and just hung out with the kids. Although they’re all boarders, they have, for the most part, been excused from class this week as well. We passed out Hershey kisses to all of the kids, which was hilarious because most of them had never seen them before, with the foil covering therefore presenting quite the conundrum. We stayed till lunch time and helped them feed the students before walking to the local grocery store, Tusky’s, in order to get plastic bins to organize the books in the library. Lots of walking, but it was definitely needed after the past couple of days!
