So here I am, sitting in the Syracuse Airport, waiting for my Kenyan adventure to begin! I have a long flight ahead of me: Syracuse to Detroit, Detroit to Amsterdam, and finally, Amsterdam to Nairobi. The furthest I have ever flown is to Ireland, so I'm pretty glad my flight is broken up - I would go stir crazy! After my suitcases barely getting past check in - 50 lbs. exactly! - I am so ready to get going! I am very nervous, and I know that the culture shock is going to be overwhelming at first, but I am ready to go and do something completely crazy and outside of the ordinary. Let's get these next 2 months started!!
