Its been a busy few weeks. After a wonderful visit with Sibylle for three weeks, I drove her to Sacramento on Thursday evening and we said our goodbyes over a plate of IHOP pancakes. Ahhh, that's good stuff!
Friday morning I met with a team of enthusiastic Bethel students to drive to a Prophetic Arts conference with Shawn Bolz and Theresa Dedmon in San Francisco. Theresa is the queen of activation. Her first question to us was 'ok..who has never painted before?' to which I hesitantly raised my hand. 'Right! You're painting on stage tonight during worship!' There's nothing quite like been thrown in the deep end and having to quickly learn how to paint with hundreds of people watching. Ok, they were worshiping and not really watching me, but still! The most amazing thing happened. I actually managed to paint something, first of all. But wait, that's not all...someone came up to me afterwards and offered to buy my painting! That blows my mind! I couldn't bring myself to sell it though.
Saturday was a day of activation for conference attendees. Each of us from Bethel were given a team to take out into the city to do a prophetic art treasure hunt. We all drew a card displaying a word God wanted to give to someone and another card showing a body part that needs healing. I had a team of three very nervous women. After a few rejections on the street my team was even more nervous and decided they didn't want to do this anymore. After much encouragment we decided to continue. 30 seconds later we spantanously started talking to a guy that was walking past us. Then we realised that he was on all our treasure maps. Two of us had 'grey hair' as a clue, we had 'blue shirt', 'blue eyes'. So we showed him our treasure maps and when he saw the names on our maps he was amazed. Four of the names we had were people that he worked with. He was definately our treasure. One of the girls had drawn a hand with a green thumb, so she asked if he liked gardening. He loved gardening and proceeded to tell us how he has lost his partner and had planted flowers in their memory. One of the other girls had drawn a picture of someone who had lost a loved one! So we had the opportunity to pray for healing in his heart. He said he felt so much lighter after we prayed for him. My team was so excited after that! They were amazed that this stuff actually works. God showed up.
Saturday night I was walking around praying for people at the conference who'd come up to to the front for prayer. A guy came up to me and asked me to pray for his foot that he'd injured while hiking. He'd had pain for about a year. Earlier in the day I'd drawn a picture of a foot that needed to be healed. His name was Joe which was one of my treasure map clues. This man was my treasure! So I quickly went to fetch my basic drawing and decided to lay the picture on his foot. The prophetic art pieces we draw carry God's anointing. After about a minute, all the pain was gone! YAY, thank you Jesus!
Now I need to do as much homework as I can before Alex and Mara, my amazing swiss friends, arrive on friday for a three week visit!
