My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Guatemala | Saturday, October 16, 2010 | 5 photos
Dear Jason,
Photographing and travelling around the world, are my favourite combination ever and there is nothing else that I want more in my life then to combine those two, as my “work office”!
I am from Slovenia and I have been living in Australia and travelling since 1997 where I discovered my passion for photography. I love capturing moments and beauty around the world and I want share it with everyone. They tell me that I have great eye for it, although winning this once in lifetime opportunity would help me become better photographer and would fulfil my biggest dream, becoming a Travel photographer (That’s were my heart is!).
Recently I visited Guatemala. What an amazing place! Place, where the evidence of first settlers goes back nearly 12.000BC, with strong Mayan culture history, country with very diverse land and 37 volcanoes, (mind you, I was standing on the top of Volcano Pacaya only 10 days before recent eruption in May 2010, crazy!), the land with many natural disasters and one of poorest countries in Latin America, but full with people who would still give you everything they have! I simply love Guatemala and there people!
I hope this photos will tell story about there beauty and simplicity. They are all single shot and all without any Photoshop corrections.
Thank you very much for this opportunity and hope to meet you in Bhutan.
Kind regards from Slovenia.

P.S I am leaving for Spain and Morocco tomorrow, so my only contact will be my email add, alenj20@yahoo.com, in case if I win
