Essaouira, the beggining

My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Sunday, October 17, 2010 | 4 photos

The pictures where taken in Essaouira, Marrocco. I'm a Spanish girl and went alone to Morrocco. Had a hard time at first but when I got to Essaouira, the harbour, the people, I forgot about the rest of the world and I enjoyed myself taking pictures of that lifestyle. I was so into the pictures that I almost got hit. They don't like pictures that much over there. But I really love that place.

About me, I just finished my studies on photography at Barcelona, still pending on the results of my last project though. Before that I studied biotechnology and I was doing my PhD on genetics. I quit all that to study photography which had been just a hobby until then. Now, after four years I’m having trouble to get started on this professional world. I like languages, and traveling, and cultures, and people. I’m not good with words, It’s hard for me to express myself. Photography makes it easier for me, I always try to tell a story. I like travel photography but I’ve never had a real assignment. Getting this scholarship, I would learn how this world really works and would perhaps get me started. Plus I’m better with people than with landscape and animals, and that is something I would like to learn with Jason Edwards since during my studies we didn’t have any workshop on the subject.
