I am a Junior at Knox College where I am a Studio Art major with an emphasis in Photography. I grew up in a small town in Illinois where the only things surrounding me were cornfields. This is where I fell in love with photography. I have loved photography since I was 13 and have always wanted to travel while photographing, well, basically everything. I love National Geographic and have considered applying after I graduate. I look at this Scholarship as a way to not only better my photography skills, but also as a way to grow as a photographer while also as a young adult who wants to experience more of the world while learning at the same time. I want to be chosen because I want to grow as a photographer and I also want to experience and see more than just central Illinois has to offer. Growing up in Central Illinois has not been the best place for photographing new and exciting things. I want to experience all the world has to offer, including the Amazon. I want to see see the Amazon and take amazing photos while also enchanting my skill. This is why I think I should be chosen for this once in a lifetime experience.
