Footpaths in Panama City

PANAMA | Wednesday, 6 May 2015 | Views [229]

Panama City footpaths are cracked, broken, missing... just like the street signs. Just as well there are no functioning street signs actually, otherwise you would be looking upward.  Fatal mistake!  Manhole covers are also broken and missing.  Maybe this is now Pamana Presedent Juan Carlos Varela Rodríguez contains the 700,000+ population of this metropolitan smorgasboard: by 'escaping' people down the manhole system.

Footpaths inscibe Panama like tatoos.  And like many tatoos, one suspects there are regrets - some buildings in Panama were definately the result of a drunken night out with the boys.  No surprises there.  A six pack costs $0.64.  Cleaning up the mess with trusty Colgate toothpaste?  $3.99.

I'm developing a soft spot for this place.  It's a teenager suffering from extreme cognative dissonance and the signs are showing...
