'Catching a Moment'
There are many moments in our lives but do we really take advantage of every of them ?
I was an ordinary girl: studying, having parties, spending time with my friends. I was able
to say that I was satisfied with my life that time. I did not really know what does really
"life" mean.
In the beginning of October I started my Erasmus program in Bilbao in Spain. I did not really
want to participate in the program but fortunately it was too late to change it. I started my studies
-everything seemed to be so hard. I could not understand anything, I did not like the the people
who I was studying with till I met a special person.
We had classes together. In the beginning we were not talking a lot to each other. Over time the
situation has changed. He noted all the values which I represented and I caught all these which
he offered to me. He seemed to be a normal guy who tried to pass his exam and have a good time
with other people from Erasmus group. That was my opinion when I met him. It has changed quickly.
I started to notice his way of life. He is the only person I met, who is really living his life. He takes
advantage of every single moment and plans it adequately to suit his needs. One day, he brought a book
with him. The book tries to explain how to build the pyramid of values in order to enjoy every single
moment of our lives. He follows the rules - he follows his own rules.
In the course of time, he has become my example. I was following him - I was taking advantage of every second,
bearing in mind that this second could be the last one. I started to go out really often, I did not have any limits.
Limits are for people who are defending themselves, trying to get some good excuses in order to justify their
actions. I was living the day and the night. I wasn't going to the bed because it is the night and it is supposed
that people are going to sleep. I was going to my bed when I was aware of the fact that I am really tired and do not
really want to meet people. I started to discover that I like sport, I am swimming now and cannot imagine my life
without it. My priorities has changed - I do not have to receive the best notes or plan my life - think which internship
should I make in order to get a new opportunities on the labor-market . The priority is to be happy. There are so many
people that think they are happy, but it is only another excuse.
