Under the Turquoise Sheet

The boat stopped about 4 miles out from the dock. Ripples of blues, greens, and yellows surrounded us, and spatters of warm salty water brushed across our faces. We waited a few seconds, anticipating what it will be like in just a few moments, our bodies free to be twisting and twirling beneath the watery sheet.
We saw shadows float by beneath us in odd shapes and sizes, intriguing us to investigate what lies beneath our feet.
The captains voice sounded distant against the growing curious chatter taking over my mind. I heard a shift in tone of his voice, and knew that meant it was time to jump in.
My feet hit the surface first, and I immediately sunk into the cool under world home to the second largest barrier reef in the world!
I saw mother sharks with their babies, string rays the size of coffee tables, turtles chomping the sea grass like cows, and eels as long as french baguettes. The colors of each creature were so vibrant, as if each one had swallowed a small piece of the moon.
I could've stayed swimming among what felt like my ancient relatives for the rest of the evening, but eventually the time came to leave the majestic space.
I slothily floated my way back to the boat, where the captain pulled me up and out, greeting me with a big smile and the words, "So how was it?"
