My Scholarship entry - Costa RIca's Energy

I have always been obsessed with the visual image. My eye is constantly composing what I see. Even If I am not taking photos, my mind wants to remember places in a beautiful way. I am interested in how to tell a story with my photos. I want questions to be asked and thoughts to be engaged.
I love the ease and practicality of the digital image, however, also love old film cameras. I really enjoy using my grandfathers 35mm camera. Developing the negatives by hand feels like a real craft.
After leaving school I worked hard to be able to finance travelling to central america and the USA. I love to travel and immersing myself in culture and different ways of living. At the Moment I study Theatre design at RWCMD. The course is very intense with average days of 8am-7pm with weekend work included. I enjoy the work I do but definitely have the regret of not considering photography as a course of further study more strongly. Outside of Uni, I love to play and watch sport (mainly football) and converse with friends.
I believe that my creativity, strong work ethic, true ambition and ability to work
collaboratively, together with my enthusiasm for photography make me a great applicant.
