I would like to mention that this is my first time applying for a photo contest. I am so honored that the country of choice for this year's assignment is my birthplace of Peru.
This year has been a very definitive time in my life. In August, I finally had the courage to leave a very stable job of 8 years and venture into the world for a 6 month trip. The reason for this journey was to finally be true to myself and live out a passion and dream I had since childhood. Ever since I can remember, I always dreamt of traveling the world with a purpose. I’m fascinated by the story of others, by the way people around the world view life based on their environment. I have been inspired by so many individuals that shared their struggle and stories of hope for a better life. I have sensed the wonder of nature in every country visited, and captured so many images. Now I want to use this experience and create something impactful and inspirational for others. I want to live a life of purpose and passion. If chosen for this assignment, I know it will be an opportunity that will change my direction in life. I am ready to work hard, open to learn and so willing to contribute in making this assignment a great success.
