My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Carmel Hinks, and I am an aspiring photographer.
I was born in South Africa, Johannesburg. In 2004, my family and I moved to Australia, where I currently reside.
Throughout my years, I have developed a strong passion for photography. I received my first digital camera at the age of 12, and after using it until its breaking point, I dedicated my 2009 Christmas holidays to working and saving up for my very first DSLR - a Canon EOS 1000D.
My passion has since amplified to the point where I successfully sought work as a fashion photographer for a local company, which has since expanded to me being employed by a national wholesale company and lots of personal work.
Having graduated my final year this year, I have now upgraded to a Canon EOS 7D, which has opened up a world of opportunities.
I believe that I should be selected as my passion only grows stronger every day; I learn more every time I turn on the camera, and would adore an opportunity where I can work with an established professional, from who I would learn so much.
I aim to pursue photography as a career, and having this experience could really help me do that; I still have the world to learn!
