Hello. My name is Carl Riemann Cortes. I'm from Cebu, Philippines. I would like to be chosen as winner because I really would love to see Oman and to photograph all of her beautiful surroundings. I have seen from an old National Geographic magazine of Oman's awesome caves and wonderful desert landscapes. I wished to myself that someday I will be able to see and photograph the beautiful country of Oman. My passion for photography developed some more because of National Geographic's outstanding photographs from around the world. They inspire me to shoot more of my surroundings in the hopes of capturing the most beautiful decisive moments in life. And for me, the Middle East is a beautiful place that is full of sights and wonders. In all honesty, I am still relatively new at Digital Photography. It hasn't been a year since I bought my DSLR. But what truly happened after I first gazed the world through the viewfinder was an amazing connection that I could not and will not forget. I have now found my true calling and passion and that is through photography. I will hone and develop and master my skills in photography, and what better way to do it than to see the world through my lens.
