My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Carlota R Martins and I am a Fine Arts student. More specifically, I am majoring in painting, in my hometown Lisbon, Portugal.

From a very young age, I have developed a passion for photography and for travel. I dreams of travelling the world and taking beautiful pictures of it.

Being in University studying Fine Arts, I can only find photography to be another form of art. Photography requires a good eye, and it is amazing to see some of the beautiful images that are being created in this field.

I am completely amateur and have taught myself how to use a camera. I have researched about photography quite a lot, and have been lucky enough to get a camera with witch I could play around, and discover how everything works.

I am finally getting my first photography course in university, and am eager to learn everything I can. I am aware of the difficulties I still face, but am always very excited to discover new things.

I had the amazing chance to travel to south america this summer, and it was a thrill to capture everything I could, from people to landscape, from getting the colours right, to getting the perfect frame.

I find that this scholarship is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and even if it is a long shot, I would love to get the chance to partake in this trip. This would be the perfect opportunity to learn a lot about photography, and especially about working as a travel photographer.
