Hi,
My name is Carl. I have been photographing Dublin for about a year now. I took up photography when i started a media course September last year. I went in wanting to become a sound engineer i had never been introduced to photography before this course and was instantly hooked. I quickly changed from media to a level 6 photography course. Studying photography has surprisingly changed the way that i look at m surroundings. Before I had never really noticed small detail in my city or characters around me, but now when i leave my house my camera is with me at all times and i find my self walking so much slower just to soak in everything that i pass. I recently went to Portugal on holidays and it was the first time i ever had a camera with me abroad. I have never experienced and noticed so much on a holiday then when i had my camera with me on this one. Dublin is a small place so to be chosen for this scholarship would allow me to experience photographing different places and to show others who have not witnessed such places back home. I do not know many photographers so to be mentored by some one who has the experience, knowledge and passion would be amazing.
