My name is Daniel Boyd,

I am an amateur self-taught photographer.
My passion for photography really took a big spin with my purchase of my first SLR some years back. Since this time I have tried keep as up to date with all the information and gear
as I can.

My desire to travel and my passion for capturing the culture and local flavor of new and exciting destinations is what really fuels my love of photography.

For the past 6 years I have worked in the construction side of Television and commercials, and with my job comes amazing opportunities to travel to fascinating places.

To be accepted for this scholarship and have the ability to take my skills on the road with a photographer of Jason's caliber would be a dream come true. To have 8 days of assisting, learning and shooting with Jason would take my photography to the next level I am striving for.

The photos attached are from a recent work trip I took to the Philippines; I was located in the province of Caramoan. I shot my photos on a Canon 7D with a Canon EF-S 18-200mm and a Canon EF-S Wide-angle zoom lens -10mm -22 mm.

The people of Caramoan are so happy, friendly, and content with life. It was such a pleasure shooting here, and I feel my photos capture this state of mind.

The way of life in the removed provinces of the Philippines such as one like Caramoan, offer something we can all learn from. In the fast-paced world we live in today, I feel it is an important that we strive to be happy, content, and appreciate what we have rather than having the constant desire for more.
