My Photo scholarship 2011 entry
Worldwide | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 | 5 photos
My photos are of a cemetery I accidentally found while on a drive. It was hidden away down a long road lined with tall trees. The cemetery was small and beautiful but unfortunate it seemed abandoned and neglected. My photos tell the story of this cemetery that’s beauty can be hard to find and instead of being maintained it has just been trashed.
Photography has always been a passion of mine, ever since I got my first camera when I was 9 years old,
Photography has been one creative outlet and passion of mine, along with art, design and creative writing. I’m a creative and very visual person with a lot of imagination.
I’m driven, enthusiastic, not afraid of hard work, and willing to go after what I want. I’m friendly, very approachable and always making new friends, I know when to have fun and when to get serious.
It is said ‘a photograph tells a thousand word’s’; this drives me to take better photos. I always strive to take photos full of emotion, that tell a story, describing a place, the suffering or happiness of the subjects in the image, intriguing photos where the audience can have their own interpretation .
I’ve always been an amateur photographer but have seriously considered the idea of becoming a professional travel photographer which would be a dream come true.
I really want this scholarship because a career as photographer would be amazing and I learn better by doing rather than reading a book or lectured. If I won this scholarship I would be open to and appreciate everything I can learn so I can build my skills and become a better photographer.
