The South Pacific

My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Thursday, October 7, 2010 | 5 photos

Place: The South Pacific

The South Pacific can be simply described by the titles for the following five images:

1. A place where the tradition of sails link land and sea.
2. Where visitors come for perfect holidays.
3. Finding a thousand smiles.
4. Intriguing culture.
&
5. Great mystery.

I am an Australian photographer from Gippsland in Victoria. My passion is to capture exceptional images that inspire a sense of awe for life and the world around us. Through my images I aim to tell the stories of people, the adventures they lead and the environments they live in.

I have an educational background in history, film, sustainability, geography, biology and languages (I have a double degree in Arts and Science from Monash University). I also have a working background in environmental consultancy and speak English, Spanish and French. These skills allow me to engage meaningfully with a variety of subject matter through my photography.

At this point in time I am yet to earn a living as a photographer and the World Nomads travel photography scholarship would give me a great learning experience and a kickstart in doing exactly what I want to for a living: the photography of travel, outdoor adventure, current events, history and environment related stories.
