My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Australia | Monday, November 7, 2011 | 5 photos

Hi,Im Callie, I live in Maleny, at the sunshine coast Qld Australia.
During the past 12 months I have been studying photography at Tafe, a passion I had desired for a long time and I have finally been able to pursue my dream. Tafe has been excellent with opening my mind to many different genres and learning the technical side of photography.
My goals now are to become a travel photographer and portray my vision and life experiences through coffee table books and blogs. I believe there are many stories to be told through a photo from beautiful landscapes and nature to poverty and war.
I’m at that stage in my life now at the age of 49, with no ties or commitments, financially secure, fit and able to be as free as a bird and live my life, we only live once, so don’t dream about doing what you want, actually do it.
To win this scholarship would be the biggest buzz that I could ever hope for, as I would love to capture the animals of Africa in their natural habitat and to see and experience the life style and culture, this would be truly amazing. To be mentored by Jason Edwards would be one of the best opportunities I could ever hope for, as this experience could open many doors for my future.
And you ask, well what sort of person are you??? Well, I’m easy going, honest, reliable, love to laugh and have fun, not into shopping, high heels or handbags. Can be serious, love to learn at least one new thing a day, and love to carry my camera and capture decisive moments that come my way. I’m addicted to photography and I want to learn more so I continually improve.
