Magical Pushkar

India | Wednesday, June 19, 2013 | 5 photos

I love to travel. Photography is my hobby , my passion and its my life . Without travel and photography i cant survive . I am awarded National Geography Award in 2010 and 2012 . Challenging aspects of travel photography is photographing people. I mean truly photographing people and capturing their spirits, not just sneaking a shot when they’re not looking. One can understand their life , culture , tradition . Pushkar Cattle Fair, is the world's largest camel fair held in the holy town of Pushkar in Rajasthan. Competitions such as the "Matka Phod", "moustache", and "bridal competition" are the main attractions of the Pushkar camel fair which attracts thousands of tourists. A spotlight of one's holiday in India, the festival hosts around 50,000 camels which are sold, decorated, shaved and raced. From a mere 14,000 to a massive 200,000! This is how the population of Pushkar swells during the Pushkar camel festival.
