My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
United Kingdom | Friday, June 7, 2013 | 5 photos
I was poor. Travelling through North America, living off seven Canadian dollars a day. I could afford to take one photograph a day. One.
OM40 viewfinder pressed to my face, would this be the one? Then the light would open up, and it was that moment of knowing. Click.
Since then I was hooked. Passionately, and slowly, self teaching myself photography, from the early over exposed shots to travelling solo across China exploring how to create a series, on the architecture of Chinese birdcages. But my progress is stunted, I've lacked the knowledge, skills and confidence to push myself further down this path.
I would so love the opportunity to learn, to be mentored. I feel I have the foundations, the passion and love for capturing and creating, equally the love of travel and documenting. I have an open willingness to learn, and explore, to discover and share.
And sharing is important. To tell a story, invite people into a place they haven't been before, and might never go. That is what drives me.
I am open, adventurous, socially minded, I love people and places and writing and capturing. And I love sharing. Click.
