The main thing that stayed with me after my trip to India was the people, especially the children. Everywhere I went, all I heard was "Madame, one photo please! Madame!!"; adults and children begging for their photo to be taken or quite happy to carry on with whatever they were doing not minding one bit that I was taking their photo. And the kids would either be very bold and confident with a direct gaze, or very shy and giggly, but always insistant that I take their photo. I should be chosen because I believe I have a good eye for composition and colour and have taken a couple of photography classes in school (B & W film) but still have technical aspects of the art to learn especially in terms of light reading and finding a happy medium between good lighting on the subject and a very bright or dark background/ portion of the picture. I have traveled solo to nearly 20 countries and have such a passion for other cultures and capturing the people and places. But something I've come to understand is that at the end of the day we are more alike than not. People are people, families are families, and kids will be kids.
